Within the depths of space, an odd planet by the name of Syumo lies. Many years ago, the planet was a magnificent place to live. War, sin, and darkness were nonexistent about the land, and a group of seven goddesses kept it so. Yet, time and hatred breed destruction, regardless of the setting. It is a truth that cannot be avoided.
For Syumo, such destruction came on the planet's 100th birthday. A battle between two of the most powerful goddesses erupted in the heavens. Word of it quickly spread quickly below. The conflict originated when the Goddess of Love's servant was announced dead. He had fallen while trying to fulfill a request of the Goddess of Light, and therefore, it was she who received the Goddess of Love's wrath.
The two fought brutally from sunrise to sunset, until the Goddess of Love finally fled, vowing to seek further revenge. What happened next is still a mystery to all, but somehow, the Goddess of Love discovered a darkness so intense that it transformed her very being. Suddenly, she wielded new powers, powers which the remaining goddesses could not hope to overcome. She could even transform Syumo's inhabitants into her minions by stealing their very souls. She took upon a new name as well, calling herself the "Shadow Goddess".
Not longer after her transformation, the fallen goddess returned to the heavens with the intention to kill her sisters. She wanted the world to pay for her loss, starting with her own blood. In an attempt to save themselves and the citizens they were supposed to protect, the six remaining goddesses cast a spell using their very life force. The spell was designed to protect the citizens of Syumo. It blessed every native with powerful magics similar to the goddesses' own. Unfortunately, once the spell was cast, the goddesses were no more.
Yet, the spell alone could not rid the world of the Shadow Goddess. Now, in the year 2100, she still roams the planet with her personalized army of 'shadows," beings whose hearts have been blackened by time and magic. Some say there is still hope, though others have already admitted defeat.
In truth, only time will tell.
